Our offense is dominating these games so far and teams come out and play us defensivley but when teams go down and get aggressive on us then our defense gets exposed. Caranta saved us alot. I’m just saying Caceres is overrated and he gets away with it on Paraguays selection team because he is surounded all around but big tough defenders but on Boca they rely on him more and he shows weakness in the air and on one on one coverage. Paletta is tough and quick but he just has no idea on how to play in the centerback position, he always looks lost and he is a liability on 50/50 airballs.

I prefer to look at it in a different light Anda – though their defense is clearly slow and does have the propensity to be beaten in one on one situations, look at what this team has accomplished so early in the season, with a depleted lineup, AND that defense. Just win. We shall see how that D holds up moving forward.

Caranta saved Boca’s defense this week. This defense is horrible. Caceres is constantly getting beat on headers and Paletta is getting dogged on one on one’s. We need a new, different strong presence at the centerback position. When teams come out to attack our defense buckles and then we have to hope Caranta is healthy and on his “A” game. The defense will be our downfall in the Copas and Argentina tournament.
