I'm not sure who is more responsible for the state that Boca is in as a club/corporation, Macri or Pompilio, but I can assume it was the combination of the two that have placed Boca among the continent's elite clubs, not only on the pitch, but also as a business.

In the last five to eight years, Boca has gone from another South American club/victim suffering from player poaching by European clubs to a force to be reckoned with in the transfer market. Their players remain at the top of the transfer rumors list but rarely make the jump across the pond because Boca has made the effort to pay their players well and make them comfortable at the club. I believe this and many other things I don't know about are the work of Macri/Pompilio.

They honestly have made Boca's success and their current position in South America an example to follow for all of South America's clubs. If only...
